Politicians and Water Shortage

So everyone has to conserve water because we are in short and limited supply. So why do our politicians keep allowing more houses and businesses to be built. Only stands to reason that with a limited supply, there has to be some bounds set to how much we can keep dishing out. Naturally the economy growing, business expanding, new people coming in, etc. all contribute to the growing demand but somewhere someone has to say whoa! and start doing something. How come some desert countries have desalinazation plant for their water needs and we don't?
I firmly believe in conversing all resources, it's just that our politicians are all screwed up in their priorities as they always need to make themselves look good. Maybe there should be some sort of class action lawsuit against these political leaders for not looking out for the wellfair of their people.

Vets working on Veterans day

ALL VETERANS SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO WORK ON VETERANS DAY!!!!!. This holiday was changed from Armistice Day to Veterans Day back in the 50's to honor our military veterans who laid it on the line to serve and protect our country. What's with veterans having to work on a holiday specifically to honor Vets?
As a Viet Nam veteran, I was pissed (and still am) that I had to work so others who didn't, could come in and get their cars serviced (I work at an auto repair shop). It's the almight buck who speaks louder than the vets. Theres a small (but growing) group who feel that only Vets should have the day off, thus saving the government billions in holiday pay. I don't care who else gets the day off but it should be mandatory that vets do!
There was a good article in the Orange County Register on Nov. 6th by Gordon Dillon(?) about vets having the day off. How many others feel them same as I do, I don't know. If you're a vet and got the day off, I'm glad, but don't forget your brothers who don't.

Vets working on Veterans Day

Monday was celebrated as Veterans Day with many people off work who could care less about vets. What about us vets that had to work??? As a Viet Nam veteran I feel this is a holiday made for me and all other vets. NO veteran should have to work on Veterans Day. I'm so pissed my work required I be there. I feel totally disrespected like I did when I came home from Nam. Some recent research about this finds there are some underlying proponents of making Veterans day a holiday only for veterans, thus saving the governments of the country billions in holiday pay. There is also a very good article by Gordon Dillow on Vets having the day off. Read this article, print it and pass it around. See www.ocregister.com/column/veterans-day-work-1917126. My employer is about the bucks-screw the vets.
